Transfer 12 Week 4, April 22, 2013

Last Monday night I went on exchanges with Elder Hill.  Last time I went on exchanges with him we got stuck behind a gate and had to jump a fence in our suits.  Fortunately for us we had no such incident.  Our day started out with some basketball with the other elders at the Interstake center.  Then at lunch time Elder Hill made some pasta with some funky sauce which we then added jabenero sauce to, it tasted pretty good.  However whatever we came up with did not agree with our stomachs. we felt sick for the rest of the day.  Elder Hill is one of the Zone Leaders, so I got to accompany him in one of his duties.  We went to a different district's district meeting, I stole some good ideas from that meeting.  But Sister Cooper from Queen Creek was there!  Then we rushed to help a sister in the ward move some furniture out of her house.  Then she gave us some leftover "mole" which did not help our stomachs.  Right before we exchanged back we talked to a guy that use to be an investigator about 10 years ago.  We testified to him of the importance of prayer.  We invited him to meet with us but he turned us down.  But elder Hill reinvited him and he thought about it for a sec and decided that he would.
Tuesday we were going to do a street dispaly as a district at the BART station but The Zone Leaders had to attend to some responsibilities and The Hermanas got  sick so it was just Elder Watkins and I.  We didn't have too much success talking to people there.  But then as we walked back to the car we met someone named Milagro and she talked to us about her family and invited us to come over to her house to talk with her family.  So we met with her last night at the end of the night like at 8:30.  We had had such a long Sunday full of meetings so we were ready to go home and finish the day.  When we called her it seemed like things might possibly  not work out but we talked things out and we were able to still  come by.  They live in the same apartment complex as some recent converts in the ward and know another family that attends our ward. The spanish word "milagro" means "miracle" for all you gringos.

We met with Alberto and his children this week and invited them to be baptized.  They said they would if their dad baptized them.  So now we are trying to help Alberto recieve the priesthood.

Last night we set a baptismal date with Donaldo.  He is from Guatamala.  We are not quite sure that he understand what that means but he seemed excited about it.

Saturday we had a Mormon Helping Hands service project. we pulled tons of weeds! I loved it!  I got to jump in the dumpster and smash all the weeds!

Sincerely!
Élder Luis González
